Women in Technology: Why We Should Always Have One in the Team

Nowadays, we can see women in the tech market. In this essay, I will explore the reasons of why we should consider always have one in the team. Firstly, I will talk the impact in the innovation process & product design, secondly I will consider how having women in the team can improve the work culture and thirdly, I will show how this fact can contribute with a global goal.

To begin with, we can see that a final product in companies with a diverse team is more complete because the diverse perspective can involves more point of views and in addition, this product could be able to address more user cases. Therefore, we should always consider women in the design process.

Regarding the workplace environment, women can improve the culture through the communication, collaboration and mutual respect. Moreover, teams led by women communicate that they feel more supported and satisfied with their work and opportunities. For example, at the company that I work, some co-workers 've told me that they feel more heard than before because now, we are open to listen new ideas and of course, we celebrate birthdays.

Thirdly, having a diverse team can help the world with the global goal of close the gender gap. According with UN, we have a 30% of women in a decent work. In the tech market, which is predominantly led by man, women make up only 20%. Furthermore, having women in technology provides role models and mentors for other women specially in the computer science fields.

To sum up, adding women in technology teams is not just about fairness or meeting quotas. It's about having a diverse team that can help us to improve the product solution design, enhance the work culture and help the world with an impact goal.
